![]() ![]() It is a mixture of competitiveness within yourself and with others. Q: What about the sport of basketball made you fall in love with it?Ī: "Basketball in my mind is very unique. But I do have my dad's attitude when it comes to competitiveness and determination to be the best." I definitely have my mom's organization skills, leadership, ability to love and care for others. Q: Who would you say you take after most in your family and why?Ī: "I think I have a little bit of everyone. I love them all so much and cannot thank them enough for everything they've done for me." From my grandparents to siblings, they push me every day to be my best and remind me of how blessed I am. They provide me with so much love every day, even being miles and miles away from them. I would not be where I am today without their love and support over the years. Q: How has your family influenced you on and off the court?Ī: "My family is the biggest part of my life. My memories include running ladders and trying to beat the older girls, doing layup drills, and running the clock." My dad was on the coaching staff and all I wanted to do after school was go to basketball practice with the older girls. ![]() Q: What was it like growing up in your hometown? Any specific memories that stand out?Ī: "A memory I have growing up in small town called Hill City, S.D., where at the time the population was around 650, was practicing with the varsity team while being in like fifth grade. I think even at a very young age, the excitement I got when playing basketball, I couldn't find anywhere else." It's crazy that I still get that same feeling when running out of the tunnel in the Huntsman. I think I might have been in third grade, and before every game our team would be announced as we ran through an inflatable tunnel with smoke and flashing lights. Q: What is your earliest memory of basketball and what was special about that moment?Ī: "The earliest memory of basketball that I have is in a youth Christain-based basketball program I played in growing up. Gylten was a Pac-12 All-Freshman first-team selection last season after ranking fourth in the league in assists per game (5.5), starting all 30 games while averaging 31.8 minutes, 8.8 points and 2.7 rebounds.
